PETROLEUM PRODUCTS

Iraqi Crude Oil and Petroleum Products

PETROXIUM coordinates the sourcing of Iraqi petroleum products for international buyers, including high-sulfur fuel oil, industrial heating oil, petroleum coke, bitumen and diesel, and provides independent advisory support to refiners preparing to buy Iraqi crude oil from SOMO.

ADVISORY SERVICE

Iraqi Crude Oil

Iraqi federal crude oil exports are marketed through the State Organization for Marketing of Oil (SOMO), under its own eligibility, allocation and contracting procedures. Applications and contracts are handled directly between the buyer and SOMO through official channels.

What We Do

Independent advisory and logistics support for refiners preparing their own application: published requirements, documentation readiness, shipping, inspection and documentary payment guidance.

What We Don’t Do

We are not affiliated with SOMO. We do not submit applications or represent applicants, and do not arrange or guarantee allocations.

Main Petroleum Products

Specifications are agreed for each contract and confirmed by inspection for every cargo.

Tanker loading fuel oil at a terminal jetty

High-Sulfur Fuel Oil (HSFO)

Heavy residual fuel oil for power stations, industrial plants and further blending, typically supplied as HSFO 180 or 380 cSt.

Viscosity, density, sulfur and flash point are stated in the contract and confirmed by inspection at loading. Supplied in bulk by vessel from Basra, or overland by road tanker.

Bitumen in steel drums being filled at an Iraqi terminal

Iraqi Bitumen

Penetration-grade bitumen from Iraqi refineries for road construction, asphalt production and waterproofing. Grades such as 60/70 and 40/50 are supplied to the agreed specification.

Penetration, softening point, ductility and flash point are confirmed by a certificate of analysis for each cargo. Supplied in bulk, steel drums or jumbo bags, loaded at Basra ports or moved overland for regional delivery.

Road tankers loading industrial heating oil at a terminal

Industrial Heating Oil (IHO)

A lighter fuel oil for industrial boilers, furnaces, kilns and on-site power generation, easier to handle and burn than heavy residual fuel oil.

Viscosity, sulfur content, flash point and water content are set in the contract and verified by inspection. Delivered in bulk by road tanker for regional buyers, or by vessel.

Jumbo bags of petroleum coke being loaded onto a cargo ship

Petroleum Coke (Petcoke)

Green (raw) petroleum coke from Iraqi refineries, used as a high-calorific fuel in cement kilns and power plants. Calcined petroleum coke for aluminium anodes and steel recarburising can be sourced on request where available.

Sulfur, volatile matter, moisture, ash and calorific value are stated in the contract and confirmed per cargo. Supplied in bulk or jumbo bags.

Also Available on Request

Sourced for specific orders. Availability and specification are confirmed per enquiry.

  • Diesel (Gasoil)

Iraqi gasoil from private refineries and legally authorised supply, available case by case, subject to availability and export permission. Typically a higher-sulfur gasoil; the specification, including sulfur content and cetane number, is confirmed for each transaction.
